Police issue car theft alert over 'chop shop' raid

Police have discovered what they believe are parts of stolen cars during a raid on an industrial unit in Dudley.
West Midlands Police said it appeared the site had been used as a "chop shop" where cars were broken up and stripped.
The force said officers made the find at Plant Street in Wordsley on Monday after they went in search of a BMW stolen in Kingswinford.
They found the missing car had been stripped of its engine and other parts, the force explained.
A number of additional parts were found, according to police who said the items were suspected of having come from other stolen vehicles.
The force has asked people to look out for "tell-tale signs of a chop shop", which could include late-night noise from units, high-value vehicles going into workshops and not coming out and large amounts of car parts being stored outside.
