Former town hall to be converted into flats

Plans to convert a former town hall into apartments and commercial space have been approved.
City of Doncaster Council has given the green light for the redevelopment of Bawtry's Old Town Hall in Market Place.
Built more than 130 years ago the building has previously been used as a working men's club, a florists and, most recently, an art gallery.
The plans have received support from Bawtry Retail Association, which said the development would provide valuable town centre accommodation and retail space.
A single-storey extension will be built to the rear of the building to form two one-bedroom apartments, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
An unspecified commercial unit at the front of the building will be open from from 09:00 to 10:00 Monday to Saturday and 11:00 to 16:00 on Sundays.
According to Bawtry Heritage Group the hall was built in 1890 at a cost of £1,100.
