Attempted murder arrest after pedestrian hit in crash

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a pedestrian was hit by a car near Tamworth.
It happened on Coleshill Street, Fazeley at 09:15 BST on Thursday.
The pedestrian suffered serious injuries, Staffordshire Police said, and was taken to hospital, while the driver of the car remained at the scene.
Officers are questioning a 66-year-old from Leicester. The scene remains cordoned off as officers continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
Staffordshire Police is calling for any witnesses or those with CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage to come forward.
