Three men have been charged with arson over a huge fire which caused several streets to be evacuated.

James Evans, 19, from Welles Street, Sandbach, Justin Evans, 18, from Catherine Street, Crewe and Peter Lord, 19, of no fixed address, will appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Friday, Cheshire Police said.

All three were charged with arson with intent to endanger life following the blaze at a disused printworks in Catherine Street, Crewe, on 9 August.

A 12-year-old boy who was arrested and released on bail has since been eliminated from enquiries, the force said.

The fire led to the evacuation of dozens of homes in surrounding streets with 15 fire engines sent to the blaze from across the county.
