Local residents released balloons in Katniss' memory after the crash

Balloons were released in Katniss' memory and a fundraiser was set up to help her family with funeral costs following the crash.

Det Sgt Paul Hughes thanked those who came forward with information for the investigation.

"Whilst the charge is a positive step the court process now needs to run its course and I would remind people that speculation especially on social media does not help Katniss鈥 family," he added.

鈥淥ur thoughts continue to remain with the family of Katniss who are still trying to come to terms with her tragic death.鈥
