A new matchday fanzone set up by Notts County in a disused factory is ready to open its doors for the start of the European Championships.

The League Two club has converted a building adjacent to its Meadow Lane ground into a venue with a big screen, bar area and street food vendors.

The Nest, in Iremonger Road, will open its doors for the first time in a test event for Germany's curtain-raiser against Scotland on Friday.

Venue managers said its grand opening would take place on Sunday when England take on Serbia in their first group game.

Magpies chief executive Joe Palmer said: "While The Nest will be an incredible place for Notts fans to meet on a matchday, our Euros provision is very much an open invitation to the whole city and county to come together at Meadow Lane to enjoy a fantastic summer of football."

Fans attending the venue's first night on Friday were urged to show patience and understanding "in the event of any unforeseen issues".
