Man disqualified from driving after crash

A man has been disqualified from driving after failing to provide a specimen following a crash and assaulting an emergency worker.

The collision involved two vehicles on the B4042 near Malmesbury, Wiltshire, on Thursday.

Steven Adams, 40, of Sunnhyhill, Cashes Green, Stroud, was charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis and two counts of assault.

Adams, who was arrested after the collision, pleaded guilty to the offences at Swindon Magistrates' Court on Friday.

Wiltshire Police said the driver of the second vehicle and two passengers were taken to hospital for treatment on their injuries, which are not thought to be serious.

Adams was disqualified from driving for 24 months, to be reduced by 24 weeks if he completes a driving course.

He was also given a community resolution with 31 days of rehabilitation activities, and required to pay compensation of 拢100, a victim surcharge of 拢114, fine of 拢140 and court costs of 拢85.
