Dead dogs and foxes found in garden pond
- Published
The bodies of five young terrier dogs and foxes have been found in a garden pond in Surrey.
Ben Fitzcosta, an animal rescue officer for the RSPCA, said the animals were likely killed elsewhere before they dumped in the water in Spring Street, Epsom.
鈥淭his was a shocking and upsetting discovery and we鈥檙e concerned about how these animals have died and what suffering they may have endured,鈥 said Mr Fitzcosta.
A man found the bodies in his garden pond on Saturday. It is not known for how long they had been in the water.
It was first believed that the animals were all dogs who had drowned in the pond, however this was found not to be the case.
鈥淭here are no clear injuries or cause of death to the animals so it鈥檚 an incredibly unusual and suspicious scenario,鈥 said Mr Fitzcosta.
鈥淲e鈥檝e launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses who saw anything suspicious in the area over the weekend to get in touch with us.鈥
