Bronze Age treasures on show 'where they belong'
- Published
Treasure from the Bronze Age has been put on display in a museum, following a local fundraising effort to keep the hoard.
More than 50 artefacts from about 3,000 years ago are being exhibited at Ceredigion Museum, Aberystwyth, after they were found by metal detectorists in 2020 in a field near Llangeitho, about 20 miles (32km) away.
The items include tools, weapons and body ornaments and were declared treasure according to the Treasure Act.
The Friends of Ceredigion Museum raised 拢4,200 to ensure the items stayed locally.

The collection also includes bracelets and axe heads, and Martin Ives, secretary of the Friends of Ceredigion Museum Committee, said: 鈥淸We鈥檙e] quite unclear about why they鈥檙e all together and why they were actually buried in this particular place."
Museum curator Carrie Canham, said the items were now 鈥渨here they belong鈥.
鈥淭hese objects have thrown up a lot of curious questions about what they were doing in the different pits in Llangeitho, who put them there, why did they put them there.
"So it鈥檚 an opportunity to explore some of our past,鈥 she said.
Bronze Age finds in Ceredigion are extremely rare, with just two vague historical accounts of previous finds being registered.
