Woman, 77, pronounced dead at scene of house fire

A 77-year-old woman has died following a fire at a house in North Lanarkshire.
Police said the alarm was raised on Pleamuir Place, Cumbernauld, at about 11:00 on Saturday.
The woman, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Crews spent around six hours battling the blaze before it was extinguished at about 15:45.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said there were no suspicious circumstances.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed it dispatched four appliances to the scene.
An investigation into the incident is under way.
