Healthcare assistant charged over death in mental health facility

A healthcare assistant will appear in court after being charged in connection with the death of a 19-year-old woman at a mental health facility in Nottingham.
Louise Furlong died on 12 September 2022, a day after she was injured during an incident at Highbury Hospital.
Nottinghamshire Police said Sylvia Quaye-Mensah, who was on duty at the time of the incident, had been charged with misconduct in a public office.
The 41-year-old agency worker, from Ilkeston in Derbyshire, is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Friday.
Det Insp Craig Hall, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Louise's family have been informed of this development and remain in our thoughts."
