Search for suspected WW2 explosive buried in garden

A search is underway for a suspected World War Two explosive believed to be buried in a garden, police have said.
Merseyside Police said they received a report with concerns about the object in a garden on Park Road South in Birkenhead.
Officers and military personnel were sent to the scene, where a search was launched at about 09:40 BST.
An area of woodland within Birkenhead Park has also been cordoned off as a precaution, the force added.
People are being urged to avoid the area.
