Police officer in court for child sex offences

A police officer has appeared in court charged with three counts of raping an underage girl.
PC Paul Hanson, 32, from Nuneaton, also faced charges of sexual activity with an underage girl.
The Bedworth-based response officer is currently suspended from duty pending the outcome of the case.
He is due to appear at Warwick Crown Court on 13 March.
He has been charged with three counts of rape of a girl aged 13 to 15 years old, seven counts of sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15 years old and one count of sexual assault.
The alleged offences were against four victims and they occurred before he became a police officer.
He has not yet entered a plea.
