A man has been charged after a car smashed into the front of a supermarket in Inverclyde.
The 47-year-old was taken to hospital after the red Honda Civic crashed through the glass entrance to the Tesco Extra store in Greenock on Friday evening.
He was later released and arrested in connection with the incident.
The store was open and trading as normal on Saturday.
Images from the scene show onlookers taking photographs of the car, which has smoke coming from under the bonnet, in the aftermath of the incident.
Broken glass and metal supports can also be seen on the ground, with several garden displays knocked over.
Police said the driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and no one else was injured in the crash.
The man is scheduled to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Monday.
