New Kent police chief starts first day in role

Ian Learmonth has been a police officer for 34 years
The new Chief Constable of Kent Police has started his first day in the role.
Ian Learmonth, 52, has moved to the county from Norfolk Police where he was deputy chief constable.
He was appointed in May to take over the role from Michael Fuller, who has become the chief inspector of the Crown Prosecution Service.
Mr Learmonth said he was "thrilled and delighted" about taking up the post.
He has been a police officer since 1976 and served at two other forces before joining Norfolk.
