A panel reviewing the Crown Officers' roles in Jersey is due to hear evidence from former bailiff, Sir Philip Bailhache.

One of its remits is to look at the bailiff's dual role as head of the States and the Chief Judge in Jersey.

It is also investigating whether the attorney general - chief prosecutor and legal advisor to the States - should give up some of his roles.

The public hearings are taking place at Highlands College.

The independent panel, which is led by Lord Carswell, a former Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland, is due to report back to the States within a year.
