TV host Ellen DeGeneres starts own record label

US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has set up her own record label to sign up new artists.

DeGeneres, also a judge on American Idol, will announce she has taken on 12-year-old Greyson Chance as her first signing.

A video of him playing the piano and singing Lady Gaga's song Paparazzi became a YouTube hit after he appeared on her show earlier this month.

The video has now been viewed over 20 million times.

Original songs

Chance, from Oklahoma, was spotted by DeGeneres after posting a video of himself playing Lady Gaga's hit song at a sixth grade music festival on the web.

He has also posted two original compositions on YouTube - Stars and Broken Hearts.

DeGeneres is expected to reveal plans for her new label, called eleveneleven, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Wednesday evening.

In a statement she said: "Greyson... inspired me to start a record label called eleveneleven. He is my first artist and we are making a record together."

DeGeneres said she will continue to use her show as a platform to find new artists, whom she will sign to eleveneleven.

Guy Oseary, Madonna's manager, and Troy Carter, Lady Gaga's manager, have signed on to co-manage Chance.
