Nature watching:

The Clifftop Gorge Walk boasts a wide variety of wildlife including nesting Peregrine Falcons and the rare Cheddar Pink flower. This three mile circular route takes about two hours.

Dormice walks and courses are available through the for those interested in getting involved.

Further up the Gorge, there are several small 'wild caves' which are suitable for more intrepid visitors.

Activities: Rock climbing, caving expeditions, abseiling.

Open topped bus rides give a good overview of the Gorge and its geology and habitats.

Facilities:

Shops, cafes and restaurants, visitor centre, toilets, shops, cash point and crafts outlets.

Access:Disabled Access: Access to Gough's Cave main cavern, valley floor, and gorge bus tour is wheelchair friendly. The Clifftop Gorge Walk is unsuitable for wheelchairs.
Getting there:

Situated on the A371 between Weston-super-Mare and Wells near the town of Cheddar.

Ìý

Gorge Tour bus - board at lakeside. Runs along the gorge floor and drops off at Gough's Cave. Runs daily April-September, and weekends in March and October.

Car parking - pay and display.

Opening times:

May-mid September 10.00am - 5.00pm; mid September-April 10.30am-4.30pm.

Ìý

Caving expeditions run April-September - sessions last 90 minutes. All equipment provided. Experienced instructors lead the expeditions.

Charges:

Free entry to main section of Gorge and walks.

Cheddar Caves and Gorge Explorer - Adults £9.50; Children £6.50; under 5s free.
