The 91Èȱ¬ Pension Scheme (the Scheme) is looking for a Scheme member to join its Trustee Board. Applications are welcome from all employees who are contributing or deferred members of the Scheme
What does a Trustee do?
The Trustee Board is responsible for looking after the assets of the Scheme and ensuring that benefits are paid at the right time to the right people. As a member of the Board you would contribute to ensuring that the Scheme is governed in accordance with its Rules and pensions legislation, and making decisions on investment policy to help sustain the Scheme financially.
Who can be a Trustee?
This vacancy is for one of the four member-nominated Trustee Director roles on the Board. The Board welcomes applications from all employees who are contributing or deferred members of the Scheme, and is committed to diversity and inclusion. A diverse mix of people from different backgrounds can bring a variety of skills, perspectives and experiences to the Board, helping the Scheme to operate effectively for all its members and beneficiaries.
You don’t need to be a pensions expert or have a background in finance or investment, or specialist knowledge. The Board is looking for enthusiastic people who have a basic understanding of pensions, are willing to learn more, and most importantly dedicated to helping ensure the success of the Scheme.
Being a Trustee Director is demanding, but the work is varied, stimulating and fulfilling. It’s an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills that would be useful in any career, and work with a wide range of people. Member Trustee directors play an important role in the governance of the Scheme for the benefit of current and former 91Èȱ¬ staff.
