The Trustees recognise that climate change is a long-term risk for the fund and has the potential to impact the Scheme’s investments.
In the interests of members and aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement, the Trustees have committed, consistent with their fiduciary obligations, to managing the investment portfolio in line with achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
This commitment is based on the expectation that governments and policy makers will deliver on their commitments to achieve the 1.5°C temperature goal of the Paris Agreement. The Trustees do not currently plan to use carbon offsets at fund level to achieve this goal.
