Zimbabwe – or was it Rhodesia? |

From his retirement home in rural Gloucestershire, Brian Oliver often reminisces over his life in the colonies. The very word “colonial”, for him, conjures up many images and names: Nelson, Zulus, Wellington, Clive of India, Rhodes of South Africa, to name but a few. Countries and continents also feature: India, America, Africa, Kenya, Uganda and Zimbabwe. But for Brian, who saw 35 years of the colonial era in Africa, Zimbabwe will forever be Rhodesia. More...
