After the band's acoustic cover of Nelly's Ride With Me was featured, at the end of February, on the influential blog perezhilton.com I Call Shotgun have had over 110,000 plays in a few days on myspace, not bad for an unsigned band.

I Call Shotgun are a four-piece electro band formed in September 2007. All the member are univeristy graduates and live around Headingley and Hyde Park in Leeds.

The band consists of Joe De Luca (front man), Iain Bolton (guitarist), Josh Weller (synths) and Graham Robson (drums).

This added interest came about one of Joe's friends sent an email to to the blog with a link to a video the band had posted on youtube of the cover version. The blog says of the track Ride With Me, 'It improves upon the original - by a lot!'

Iain says: "We didn't actually think anything would come of this but when Perez Hilton heard the track he got in touch saying he really liked it, so he decided to post it on his blog, and that receives hundreds of thousands of hits every day."

Will the web interest turn into something longer lasting? Following Perez Hilton's clip the band have had interest from a big music agency as well as record labels in the UK.

Currently the band are writing and recording new material at Melrose Yard Studios in York (the studio is co-owned by Iain Bolton) and, of course, are carrying on gigging.
