Highlight words in the dictionary
When you learn a new word, highlight it in your dictionary. Every time you look something up, your eye will be drawn to the words that are already highlighted. This means you will constantly be consolidating your vocabulary. It's also a very satisfying way of visualising your progress (especially for beginners) as you can actually see how much you've learnt.
