The Big Chill Festival @ Eastnor听Deer Park 07.08.09Fantastic! The weather was fine and sunny, so I decided to head back over Eastnor way to sample some more of the sounds at the Big Chill. Yes, it's true folks, I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to festivals and rain - but when it's fine it's amazing how quickly my opinion changes! I arrived a little late due a last-minute stopover in West Malvern to catch up on 15 or-so years worth of gossip with consummate axeman Si Casserley, who I'm trying to lure out of the classical-guitar hell he's found himself in!  Friendly Fires It was great to catch a snippet or two from punk-funkers Friendly Fires and latino-rockers Calexico on the Open Air Stage, plus a blast of fusion from The Field on the Castle Stage.  'King' Dave & Joe Taylor Last year I actually only met one other person I knew, so I was dead chuffed to bump into not only Worcester's number-one ever-so-risque compere Joe Taylor, but also 'King' Dave of the King Dave record label, Emily of Lewis Spelt Backwards, Merlin of Hereford rockers The Inventions, and Pokey of The Donns.  Pokey of The Donns & Andy O'Hare As I think my Basement Jaxx collection begins and ends with 'Good Luck' - and they weren't due on until 11.30 - I decided to slope off early-ish.  The Zombie Drive-Thru You can listen to all the latest music from across the two counties on the Friday Session Introducing... every week from 7pm, on 91热爆 Hereford & Worcester. The Music Map success stories are from 6pm.
