ReviewsYou are in: Hereford and Worcester > Entertainment > Friday Session > Reviews > The Hare Piece Music reviewer, Andy O'Hare The Hare PieceAndy O'Hare goes to more gigs than you can shake a stick at. He lives in Worcester, but says he prefers the music scene in Hereford. This is his weekly 'what's live and local' blog about the thriving music scene in the two counties. Pacman The Big Chill Festival @ Eastnor听Deer Park 06.08.09I hope you enjoyed the live broadcast from this year's Big Chill Festival, just outside the lovely little village of Eastnor. I've played cricket there before - there's not many grounds, I imagine, with a castle as a sight-screen! We'd actually rolled up on the Thursday to check out the massive site, spotting that almost everyone had been zombified ready for the 'I Spit On Your Rave' world record attempt MC'd by Noel Fielding Of The Mighty Boosh. I had to admire the bloke with a two-foot nail through his head - bet that smarted a bit! I'm glad to say that they smashed the record with over 4,000 undead - making it the largest gathering of zombies ever - woohoo! Narcoleptic Penguin I've gotta say that while it's a massive festival, the only gripe I've got about the Big Chill is the lack of local talent on show. It was great, then, to see Worcester street-drumming combo The Narcoleptic Penguin parading their talents, fresh from supporting Damo Suzuki of Can a couple of weeks ago. Credit to the Friday Session's Flo Rowland for spotting them, also to Ed, John-Joe, Jez and the guys for flying the Hereford & Worcester flag. Maybe this is the break we need folks! 'Chickens' I decided to head back a little earlier than planned. It was a shame to miss British Sea Power, but there was a superb red sunset on show. After the muddy horrors of Nozstock, could this be what this fair-weather festival goer was praying for? See the next page...! The Big Chill FM transmitter You can listen to all the latest music from across the two counties on the Friday Session Introducing... every week from 7pm, on 91热爆 Hereford & Worcester. The Music Map success stories are from 6pm.
