The Church of St Peter and St Paul in Stoke Lacy is a delightful mix of old and new, and contains some unique memorials.Ìý The Morgan family, who founded the Morgan car company in Malvern hail from the village, and their influence can be seen throughout the church and churchyard.

The church porch contains a modern circular stained glass window in memory of John and Bridget Leavens of California and 'to all those who have experienced the love and friendship endeared by the Morgan car. Pray that we meet merrily in heaven.'

The window shows two Morgan sports cars and the Malvern Hills, and has a wonderful story behind it.Ìý

The Leavens visited Stoke Lacy in 1995 due to their interest in the Morgan car and loved the village.Ìý

Sadly, they were killed in an accident in 1997, and subsequently the parishioners learned that the couple had left £5,000 to the church in their will.Ìý

The window was erected in their memory and shows their unusual red three-wheeled Morgan.ÌýÌý

In February 2005 a new window in the same style was also unveiled in memory of Henry Morgan who died in 2004.

Henry George Morgan, whose son founded the car company, was Rector of Stoke Lacy between 1887 and 1937, and his descendent Henry Morgan followed in his footsteps as rector between 1971 and 1986/7.Ìý

The family graves can be seen in the churchyard in a plot surrounded by iron railings, next to the main path.

The church also contains many stained glass windows erected in memory of members.
