Information about special feature The Edible Garden at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2011
The Edible Garden
Jon Wheatley & Anita Foy
Discover an edible wonderland in the centre of Hampton Court Flower Show. Covering 1,850 sq metres and containing nine areas, this garden is filled with different foods and food production techniques available to gardeners in the UK.
Traditional crops like hops, fruit, nuts and non-edible crops like lavender and willow are laid out in formal and informal areas. There’s even a foraging garden to demonstrate just how many edible plants are around us in nature.
For those that want something truly different there’s a tropical house filled with exotic edibles and adjacent to this, a bed for giant vegetables.
