In this episode, the guest judge is comedian Ed Gamble, who co-hosts the enormously successful Off Menu podcast. He joins food critic Matthew Fort, restaurateur Oliver Peyton and cook and broadcaster Rachel Khoo to select the menu’s final flourish – the dessert course. This is the last chance the chefs have of cooking a course at the banquet, so tensions are running high as the rivals cook against each other for the final time. The stunning dishes pay tribute to a broad spectrum of innovators from celebrated 19th century chemists to icons of 21st century computing.

At the end of the show, one chef will be surprised by being asked to cook the banquet’s mini dishes - but will this be additional work for an existing winner, or a final chance of reaching the banquet for a chef who hasn’t won a course?
