America's Sweethearts DVD (2001)

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Julia Roberts compete as "America's Sweethearts" in a wry look at the Hollywood movie-making machine, now ready for inspection on DVD.

TECHNICAL FEATURES

Picture You don't go putting Hollywood's two top leading ladies in a movie then ruin it with a duff picture. Not a digital blemish does spoil these visions of beauty.

Sound While not an effects-driven movie, there are a few good surround moments.

SPECIAL FEATURES

Deleted Scenes This is one of those rare discs where the deleted scenes are actually very good ("Bridget Jones's Diary" being another one). Director Joe Roth introduces each of them and offers commentary where necessary. Most of them got cut because of character development, but one of them was whipped out because it didn't test well with women or the censor.

Additional Extra Features A small trailer gallery of romantic comedies, and cast and crew filmographies.

Region: 2
Chapters: 28
Ratio: 2.35:1 (anamorphic)
