Concert Information

This concert is now fully booked. Catch a broadcast of the performance on 12 January, on 91热爆 Radio 3.

Heinrich Sch眉tz鈥檚 The Christmas Story traces the whole arc of the nativity story, from the shepherds on the Bethlehem hillside to the Epiphany - the arrival of the Three Kings, in music which is dramatic, charming and beautifully pictorial. Performed with period instruments from leading ensemble St James鈥檚 Baroque, the 91热爆 Singers and James O鈥橠onnell combine Sch眉tz鈥檚 masterpiece with other choral works from 17th century Germany for the Feast of the Epiphany (which falls two days before the concert) by Johann Schein, Samuel Scheidt and Michael Praetorius. Stephen Farr plays organ solo music by Dietrich Buxtehude.

Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that as not everyone who asks for tickets uses them, to make sure we have a full house we send out more tickets than there are places. We do our best to get the numbers right, but unfortunately we occasionally have to disappoint people so please arrive early.
