Elvis Costello
Elvis Costello
Sat 29 Jun 2013 Pyramid Stage
Army of one

Costello's unmistakable voice has taken on genres from soul to country, ska to pop and classical to jazz ever since he started making music with Flip City in the early 1970's.

Along with backing band The Attractions, he's gone on to record over 30 albums in an industrious career which has included producing The Specials and The Pogues, winning a Grammy, appearing in The Simpsons and Sesame Street plus contributing to film soundtracks such as cult classic Napoleon Dynamite (which was also a one-time pseudonym of Costello's). The artists he has collaborated with stand as icons in modern music, including former Glasto headliners Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney.

Currently making an album with hip-hop pioneers The Roots, he returns to the hallowed Somerset fields in victorious form. With his trademark Buddy Holly-esque specs, provocative lyricism and inquisitive nature towards making records, Costello's all-encompassing passion for the power of music is something that needs to be experienced.
