Linton Stephens presents a live concert broadcast from the 91热爆 Philharmonic and friends from the orchestra鈥檚 MediaCityUK home in Salford.
The concert offers an opportunity to discover music by Nathaniel Dett, Margaret Bonds, Julia Perry, Ali Osman, Kikuko Kanai and Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges. 91热爆 New Generation Artist Kunal Lahiry is soloist in Perry鈥檚 Piano Concerto No. 2 and AHRC Composer Champion Samantha Ege will present solo piano works by Nathaniel Dett and Margaret Bonds. The 91热爆 Philharmonic is conducted by Ben Gernon.
This concert is part of a collaboration between 91热爆 Radio 3 and UK Research and Innovation鈥檚 (UKRI) Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) which aims to celebrate and give recognition to classical composers from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
