91热爆 NOW at 90: Afternoon Concert
As part of 91热爆 NOW鈥檚 90th birthday, Nicola Heywood Thomas presents a concert from 91热爆 Hoddinott Hall, and live on 91热爆 Radio 3, looking back at artists and composers that have played significant roles in our development and identity.
Celebrating our distinctive role as a both a broadcast and national orchestra of Wales, the programme includes music by Bruch and Mozart, who featured in 91热爆 NOW鈥檚 very first concert in 1928, alongside iconic Welsh composers Huw Watkins and Mathias, all conducted by Grant Llewellyn.
The Orchestra will be joined by current 91热爆 New Generation Artist Eivind Holtsmark, and former member of the scheme Annelien Van Wauwe, marking 91热爆 NOW鈥檚 longstanding partnership with 91热爆 Radio 3 and their joint commitment to the promotion of new music and artists with a performance of Bruch鈥檚 Double Concerto. Plus, we鈥檙e delighted to welcome Ll欧r Williams back for Mozart鈥檚 Piano Concerto No 22.
It鈥檚 set to be a wonderful celebration of the last 90 years, and we do hope you will join us.
