Having gone on holiday to Cornwall for more than 30 years. It means so much to me to see so many places that bring back so many fantastic memories. I now live in Tenerife, but really do envy the people of Cornwall. Havnt managed to holiday there since moving here 2 years ago, but most definately getting withdrawl symptoms. Lovely website.

Ian KingTruro
Honeymooned in Cornwall in 73 with my new essex wife, loved the place to bits so I stayed, divorced the wife and married a Cornish girl, proper job!!

Nicky, Ware in Hertfordshire
I fell in love with Cornwall at the age of 14. Now we bring our 4 boys every year. We love Porthcurno, Looe, Perranuthnoe and just being in that part of the country. Cornwall, my heart belongs "in the west."

Gemma, The Roseland, Cornwall.
I was born and brought up in Cornwall and am immensly proud to be Cornish. I have been away in Scotland first to University and am now working here for a while until I can find a job in Treliske. Every time I cross the Tamar my heart fills with joy and I know that I am once again home. There is nothing better in this world than walking along the coastal path up to Dodman point and standing by the cross as the wind blows all the cobwebs away.

Rod Denmark
Cornwall, the greatest place on the planet.

Rosemary from Surrey
Love West Cornwall. Went as a child and again and again over the years. Best times at Gurland Farm nr. St. Just in the late 1950's. Wonder what happened to the Williams Family? Seen the old farm in the distance but not been back there. Cannot beat the sun and the sea and the countryside. Can anyone tell me the answer to the above?

steven, hamburg, germany
i love to be in cornwall and looking forward to my next visit in september 2005. these photos are a good reminder for me.

Rosemary, Surrey
Used to holiday in Cornwall when a child Gurland Farm St. Just. Been back to see and its all still there. Love the web site can look at it every day. Wish I was there now! Love to know if any of Williams family still living at farm.

John Plastow Hastings New Zealand
The pull of Cornwall grows with viewing the photos on this sight. I left Cornwall at 17 years of age and 5 years later emigrated to New Zealand. It is so wonderful to view cornwall - Some photos of Hayle would be appreciated.

mary from Mullion
Message for Daphne - I think that the cove that you refer to is St Loy Cove. It is the most wonderful little cove and we, like you, found it first whilst staying at Treverven campsite. In early spring the woods above it are filled with snowdrops, later it is daffodils and in the late summer the top pf the cove is covered with wild hops reminding me of the hop gardens of my Hampshire village childhood. There is a cottage just up form the cove that offers the most wonderful teas during the summer months - well worth a visit. St Loy is a real gem.

Simon Reed, Lymington,Hants
This tea room serves the best cream teas ever!!!!!!!

Rosemary
Used to Holiday at Gurland Farm St. Just when I was a child. Been back to Cornwall often over the years. Even went back to the farm a couple of times but never saw anyone to speak to. Wonder who owns it now? Use to be Mr Williams and his family. These pictures brings it all back.

Lynda from Leicester.
Spent many happy childhood holidays in Cornwall. Though I've only been back once for a brief visit my heart is in Cornwall. Seeing the lovely photos has really got my heart aching. If I'm able to travel next year - Cornwall here I come - I love YOU.

Liam Redruth, Cornwall
I love cornwall, im cornish and its so dear to my heart. Please appreiciate this beautiful part of the world on holiday or a visit. BUT DONT MOVE HERE. people living the dream are destroying what is great about cornwall- the people. making it hard for local people to afford houses. and diluting the wonderful cornish spirit and identity. Cornwall doesnt need any more Londoners.

Darren E Cooper
I think the 91热爆's Cornish website is great. Cornwall is a fantastic place to be, rain or shine. I particularly enjoy walking the coastal path from Polperro to Fowey, where land meets the sea with such dramatic results (where doesn't it in this region?). I remember 2001 when my wife and I did the walk and the fog descended upon us rapidly. We moved off the coastal path and looked for a road. We'd been walking for about 5 minutes and a German couple in a camper van offered us a lift to Fowey. Anyway, we had lunch together in Fowey and it turned out they'd been coming to the South West every year for 25 years. With such beauty and plenty of activities, its a place you never tire of.

Nahir.+ from Caracas Venezuela
I was a language assistant in Bucks , and had the chance to visit wonderful Cornwall. Spectacular views and walks. Seeing your photos reminds me of my week around those beautiful places. thanks for them.

Laura Cook Bath
I have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Falmouth, where I saw many big and beautiful Sher clunk clunk's (cats for those who don't know the meaning). Cornwall is home to some of the finest Sher clunk clunks I have ever seen, and I have travelled the world. I look forward to being in cornwall again and hope to visit more of these unique and beautiful creatures. p.s I also rescued a baby seagull last night another one of cornwall's fine creatures.

ANN GIE COLLIS,Philippines

What would we do without the thought that one day we'll be there again. Throughtout the winter I look at these photos for inspiration and surround myself with all the happy memories that only Cornwall could give me. I have been unwell over the past three years and closing my eyes and imagining lying on a warm, sunny Cornish beach was the best pill in the world !!

Gemma, Abingdon
My boyfriend & I went to Gorran Haven for the Easter weekend & it was fantastic. Really beautiful place - lovely small beach with soft sand. Something quite romantic about sitting by the sea & tucking into fish & chips looking out at the wonderful coastline in March. We'd never been before & will definately go back. Highly recommend it.

David Seymour

It's winter now here in cityville but thank god for the internet! Cornwall's inspiring me still thru the fantastic photo's on this site.Gwithian is my 'soul' home and we visit with family every year and stay in a wonderful old railway carriage in the dunes - heaven on earth! I introduced my first grandchild to Cornwall this year and he loved it. The 'Cornwall bug'is catching! Well worth it I reckon!

nick jones - whistler, bc
I have recently moved out to Canada to do a season snowboarding in Whistler having just finnished my degree in graphic design at Falmouth. Having an awsome time here, met some great people and loving the amazing landscape and wildlife in BC. Dispite this i still miss Cornwall and its atmosphere and is one of my favorite places in the World.

Ketki,Mumbai,India
My name is Ketki and I am from India.I regularly view Cornwall's pictures from this site.I'venever been there.I even haven't been out of India. But whenever I see the photos of Cornwall on my computer desktop,I feel that I am there.I even composed a poem about the beaches of this magical county. It goes: On the rocky beaches of Cornwall, The rocks stand wide and tall, Whenever I go there, The power of Nature makes me feel small. The water is a beautiful aquamarine, The waves over it are calm and serene, The water glistens and shimmers in the sunlight, It is such a wonderful sight. The sea-waves wash the shore, sometimes they are calm, sometimes the breakers roar, This pretty picture delights me to the core, And I cannot ask for more. So golden appears the sand, I wish I could just stand, Look around me and see, The treasures Mother Nature has at hand. I wish to visit this wonderful county, Which is Mother Nature's bounty, And just at the beach stare, without any tension, worry or care!

This was our third visit to kennack sands. In the summer the day we left the campsite was the day boscastle got hit, this time we stayed at Sea Acres in a double glazed caravan we needed it the spring tide was spectacular, the beach at kennack was completely washed away by the storm, there was a white algae foam on the beach we love the place so much we will be back next october, love from the flat side!

John Cardnell-Gunwalloe
Lovely place to live. Great views over Mounts Bay and and about 3/4 hour walk away from Porthleven. Beach is great(Church Cove) Fishing Cove is lethal for swimming. Death Trap.

Lorna Coleman, Nottingham
I went to cornwall for a week last August. It's the most beautiful place I've ever stayed at, and probably the only place I like more than my own home city. I did a part of the South West Coastal Path on my last day there, Mousehole to Lamorna. I think it was the best walk I've been on, and that takes some beating. I can't wait to go back there.

Sam Saunders Walsall
What can I say that hasn't already been said about god's country Cornwall. My family and I have been back to St Ives every year for the last 25 years.Firstly for a week and in recent years a week at easter and two weeks in Sept.Even though my children have grown up and left home we still can't get rid of them when we go back, they still follow us.It's like going home when we return and we still don't want to come home after our hol's.To watch John in the Sloop juggle a glass before dropping it,is something special to see. We have spent all of our special occasions down there as well since we had our 25th wedding anniversary down there and had the marriage blessed in the parish church.I spent my 50th down there, our 30th anniversary down there and my brothers 50th there as well. Now we are going back to celebrate my wife's and John in the Sloop's 50th birthdays in Nov.How I wish we could win the lotto and not have to come back, it would be the icing on the cake even though the family would be right behind us.I hope to be returning to my second home for many years to come.Thank you God for giving us CORNWALL.

Dannielle -The caribbean

Fons de Jong, Bleiswijk, The Netherlands
I'm sure photo 6 "Polperro Cove" from the part SWCP "Looe to St Austell" is not the correct location...... This looks VERY familiar to Lizard lifeboathouse at Lizard point. In fact, i'm sure that's the real location! P.s. There's a nice tearoom/garden overlooking lizard point with the lifeboathouse.

Glynis & Scott Wheeler, St Clair, NSW Australia
Hi, Just returned from Cornwall after a weeks holiday. Was in Zennor looking at the area from which my g.g.g.grandmother came. We were in Zennor when that awful flood & mudslide hit Boscastle. We should have been in Boscastle but were too busy looking at the area around Zennor. Hope all persons have been accounted for & things are beging to get back to some what normal in Boscastle. Had a wonderful time in Cornwall & we felt like we belonged there, hope to be back in a few years, thanks to all for being so welcoming to us, Scott & Glynis

Peter Chidgey - Bristol
This is my favourite little cove to surf in. When conditions come together in this magnificient setting it's such a joy to surf there. The waves are super fun with un English like hollowness about them. The water is so clean as well, you'll often see a seal or two in the water with you.

MIck Byrne - London / Grampound
Its Friday morning, pouring in London and I'm booked on the 4:30pm train to Cornwall this afternoon. What could be better than knowing I can see this tomorrow ! Maybe see this everyday ?

Bernard Butterscotch
Thank you for the photos, they made me think back to my childhood days when I could walk along the cliffs with my family and our dog lassie. Poor lassie has past away now but she will be remembered in our thoughts. Thank you Cornwall.

Phil. Barrie Ontario Canada.
The week prior to Whitson w/e 1967. Visited Cornwall with friends stayed at B&B's all of us in our late teens early 20's Had the greatest time having traveled from Alton in Hant's. Mevagissey, the inner and outer harbours, Mackeral fishing and the Gorran Highlanes, Tintagel, Boscastle, Bude what a beautiful county with it's history, diverse scenery and above all the friendliness of the people, it was incredible. 1969 I left for Canada 1994 I married, where does one honeymoon? Why B&B's, Mevagissey, the inner........harbours, Mackeral fishing............incredible! I have revisited 3 more times since then it truly has a magical charm to the area. My heart cries out to the people of Boscastle in their hour of need good luck and may you get through this period of devestation and regain your pride in yourselves and and your locale. God Bless.

Sally, West Sussex
I remember wonderful holidays as a child in Porthcurno, and the magic of watching plays at the Minack Theatre, with the moon shining on the sea....breathtaking! Cornwall is pure magic.

Pam & Ray Wheeler , Penarth,South Wales
We spent a week in the Lizard last year (2003) and visited many of the areas including Cadgwith - where we were amongst many watching the making of the film Ladies in Lavender. We both thoroughly enjoy Cornwall every year and if we won on the lottery we would move down there like a shot!

Dan, Coventry, 30years old
I first went to cornwall when I was 16years old to work over the summer season in Newquay, Stayed 3months! Since then I've been going to cornwall each year.. Padstow is one of favorite places as it has a beautiful original feel to it while also being just 12miles from Newquay. I find myself driving on the coastal road between padstow and Newquay dropping into the beautiful beaches to while away the hours.... Heaven.

Neil Hodgkiss, Wolverhampton
I wish Wolverhampton Bus Station had the same sort of views as the one at St. Ives. Cornwall is an amazingly beautiful place & I constantly look forward to returning there each year.

James Ullman, San Marcos California
On my many trips to England, I have visited Cornwall four times and it is my favorite part of the country. It is spectacular in every way and the people are wonderful. Trelissick Garden, Eden Project, St. Michaels's Mount, Lanhydrock, Truro Cathedral, Prideaux Place and Padstow are just a few of the places well worth visiting. I always look forward to returning, as my two best friends live in Bodmin.

Dan, Milton Keynes
My wife Sarah and I go to Cornwall every year. We take our Dog Snowy our Black Lab with us and stay in a cottage. We have stayed at Cadgwith Cove on the Lizard, Polperro, Port Isaac and Sennen Cove twice. WE are going back to Sennen later this year with our new Daughter Lola who will be making her first trip. What can we say but Cornwall is the best place. Gwenver Beach here we come!

Brian Hyde: Mullion, Cornwall
I moved here from London 21 years ago and I will never go back. Life here is like being on holiday all the time. First and foremost the folk down here are so friendly.

Lee James Birmingham
My wife and I spent our honeymoon at Tregoad Park in Looe in 2002 and we have not felt so welcomed in our life. Looe is a fab place to be and we are planning our fourth visit to Cornwall and Looe in a few weeks time. all i can say is when we are in Looe and other parts of Cornwall it feels like we are in another world.

Ken, London
we first came to cornwall in June 2001, and have been back every year since,we fell in love with st ives and will be there in June and August and probably every year after that, unless we moved there, has our boys got the surfing bug

Jools - Boring Bristol!
I want a Philp's pasty, not a burger, I want to be at the Hayle end of the A30, not junction 18 of the M5. I want to be feeling that wonderful freedom and pure air, not city grime and noise. I want that golden sand under my feet, not tarmac and gravel. I think it's time for a holiday, I wonder where I should think about going? Perhaps south west might be good.......

tom
daphne, not sure if anyone else answered, but the boulder beach you are talking about is called st.loy . You can also now get cream teas down there at one of the houses that sits about 50yrds back from the cove.

sue from goldthorpe soyth yorkshire
Perronporth is a beautiful little village down in cornwall we are going back to the same caravan park now for the 4th year the lovely sandy beach with great waves for surfing on, makes it one great holiday.

Matt Amos, Falmouth, Cornwall
Having lived in Cornwall all my life it is hard to appreciate what you have become accustomed to over the years. But having recently left to go to university, I realise just how much I miss the old place. Cornwall looks twice as good if you return to it having not been there for a while, as I have found out, and I look forward to every trip home I make, no matter how brief.

Maxine Atkins, Wolverhampton
I have family who live in cornwall, my aunt lives in Rose about a mile from Perranporth which is my favourite place in the whole county, (originally from wolverhampton she moved there when she married my uncle, who sadly is no longer with us). As a child we would visit and I have lots of great memories. The last holiday there was to see the eclipse and hopefully we'll be back there soon.

R. Gregory, Oregon, U.S.A.
I lived in Gorran, Cornwall, just outside of Mevagissey for 7 years and loved every minute of it. The people are as wonderful as the beauty of the place. It is the most magical place on earth, and one day, hopefully, I'll be back for good.

My boyfriend and I go to cornwall every easter for a week. Theres no better place to relax and unwind and get rid of all that work related stress! St.Ives is the best place on earth, you can't beat eating fish and chips by the sea, it just doesn't taste as good anywhere else i've been. Padstow is also a gorgeous place for a long sunny walk. We hope to run away and live in cornwall one day! imagine.. pasties for lunch every day!

Me and my husband visit Cornwall at least six times a year with and without our children, throughout the seasons, we love Cornwall anytime of the year. I love coming off the M5 and the sense of leaving all the hustle and bustle behind. Hayle and Gwithian area are the best. We hope to move to Cornwall one day.

Great photo of Trebarwith Strand. It has been our favourite place in Cornwall for more than 30 years, not least because it includes the pub with the finest sea-view in England!

I just discovered Pendeen Watch by chance about 30 years ago. When I saw Fred's photo I could smell the fresh air, I had a taste of the salty water of the Atlatic Ocean. Thanks for all the photos.

I wish to know the name of the little bay with granite boulders right to waters edge, on the Lamorna to Penberth coastal walk. It must be where Picture number 7, has been taken. I knew it so well, but not it's name. I wish to have a photo of it, to remind me of wonderful times when my children were young and walked that path with me when staying at Treverven campsite, which was about half a mile or so, further on, before Treverven and then Treen. Could anyone help, Please?

I used to live in St Just (mid-seventies) and each year a fleet of local fishing boats from Priests Cove would take healthy swimmers round the back of the Brisons (the rocks offshore from Cape Cornwall), from where we would swim in shore. Great fun - cold, and a little scary at times, but fond memories nonetheless, especially the seals. Check out the Brisons' piccy by turning your head 90 degress to the left - what do you see?

I've never been to Cornwall. It's only a dream. Thanks to all who gave us the possibility to see these lovely pictures of nature. Rocks, seagulls, beaches, pretty fishman's villages, centenarian castles!!! I was born in Blacksea Coast. Sometimes Cornwall looks like on my place of birth. I live of hope to see my dream somewhere.

My mother was born in Fowey in 1894 and as a young lady worked in Newquay (her maiden name was Rodda). Ever since I can remember she would tell me how beautiful Cornwall was and my aunt would send us a Cornwall calendar every year and my mother would sit down with me and point out all the beauty spots she remembered. When my wife and I finally visited Cornwall in 1998, I felt that I had been there before, then it dawned on me it was because I had seen all this before in the annual calendars for years and years. It is truly a place of great beauty, the people were great and we had a wonderful time. We plan to return next year.

Born and bred Cornishman forced to work up country, but inspired by these pictures to get my family down there. Climbed on so many of the cliffs from Zennor right round to Lamorna and can still feel the sharp granite crystals, wiry lichen on ancient rocks, hot sun beating down, waves providing the security that the Earth will go on. My God, what am I doing in Nottingham.

I am born and bred cornish, unfortunately due to lifes circumstances i am no longer able to live in cornwall.I have three very young children, i do my best to show them and teach them as much as possible about cornwall and it's heritage-their heritage. My greatest wish for their childhood is for them to recieve as a priveledged childhood as myself. Cornwall- we will return one day -God willing!

I have been to Cornwall since I was a child. The feeling of walking over the top of the ridge and seeing Lantic Bay in the summer stretching away underneath me, and all the associations with it in my life, is something very special and very Cornish.
