Complaint
This edition included an interview with the then Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron which a complainant argued contained one-sided and inaccurate questions about UK support for Israel. 聽The ECU considered whether the broadcast met the relevant standards set out in the 91热爆 Editorial Guidelines.
Outcome
In interviews of this kind the role of the presenter is to reflect other points of view and challenge the guest where appropriate. 聽Due impartiality was achieved by allowing Lord Cameron the time to respond to questions, set out his position and justify the actions the Government had taken. 聽In the ECU鈥檚 view there was a clear editorial justification for asking the Foreign Secretary to explain the Government鈥檚 position in light of events in the Middle East, including its support of Israel and its decision to continue to supply arms and provide military assistance, as well as its view on Israel鈥檚 military strike against an Iranian diplomatic building in Damascus. 听听听
