Complaint
A viewer complained about the decision to interview a representative of UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), arguing it was a discredited organisation, and said the item should have made clear that several countries had decided not to work with it on the basis of charges that its workers supported Hamas and the 7 October attacks. 聽The ECU considered the complaint in the light of the 91热爆 Guidelines on accuracy and impartiality.
Outcome
The interview was prompted by the airstrike which killed aid workers for the World Central Kitchen, and what that said about the general safety of aid workers. 聽The programme did not set out to investigate the charges against UNRWA, which have subsequently been rejected by an independent review, but there was a direct reference to them in the course of the item. 聽The ECU did not consider it likely therefore that viewers would have been misled on any material point.
