Rodders,
as he is affectionately known by his big brother, has stuck
by Del
through thick and thin. After leaving school with two GCEs
in Art and Maths, he was expelled from Art College for dabbling
with the dreaded weed.
Without
much going for him Rodney managed to rise to the heady heights
of Financial Director of Trotters Independent Traders. Against
all odds Rodney found a supportive partner in Cassandra
and made an honest woman of her in 1989. These days the only
thing that troubles Rodney is his nephew Damien
- about whom he has recurring nightmares.
Lyndhurst
has had a charmed acting career - snaring his first role at
the tender age of 18 playing Ronnie Barker's son in the Porridge
sequel Going Straight. On the strength of this he graduated
to playing another moody teenager in the sitcom Butterflies,
before landing the role of Rodney.

When not playing Rodney in Christmas Specials of Only Fools,
Nicholas can be seen starring in his very own 91Èȱ¬
ONE sitcom vehicle Goodnight Sweetheart.
