All of these projects are vital in defending the rights of traditional forest communities and protecting the rainforests.
The Rainforest Foundation UK would like to say an enormous thank you to everyone who donated so generously to our Radio 4 Appeal in December. Over 500 listeners supported the appeal, raising an amazing £40,581. We were overwhelmed by this response, which is already helping to protect rainforests and support the people who live in them.
These gifts allow us to continue our work in protecting rainforests in the Congo Basin, including DRC, Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Gabon and Cameroon as well as the Peruvian Amazon, by supporting indigenous peoples and traditional rainforest communities in protecting their environment and gaining rights to their land.
Through this appeal we can continue teaching communities to map their customary land, continue running our real-time monitoring system ForestLink which enables communities to immediately report illegal logging activities and continue to support the development of community-managed forests
Your gifts will be long lasting, as by supporting forest peoples in gaining rights to their land and allowing them to sustainably manage their resources, these areas of rainforest will be protected for generations to come. Thank you!
