Mum could be there for me because Lymphoma Action was there for her. Now other families facing the ordeal of lymphoma will get the vital support and information they need”.
We are very grateful to the generous donations from 91热爆 Radio 4 listeners who raised a fantastic £8,104 to support our work - thank you so much.
Our appeal told the story of Carol, diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma at 26, and how her decade of treatment affected the whole family. Carol and her mum Helen were supported by Lymphoma Action throughout, which made a huge difference.
More than 53 families every day have to cope with the shock of a lymphoma diagnosis and so every donation helps us be there for them - from diagnosis, through treatment and side effects and then after to help them live with and beyond lymphoma.
Lymphoma - the most common form of blood cancer in the UK - is a complex disease, with over 60 different sub-types and many treatments. Thanks to the appeal, we can continue providing our free services to anyone affected by lymphoma so that we can be there at every step. This includes regularly updated, expert reviewed information, reassurance and a listening ear through our confidential helpline services and connecting people going through a similar experience through our buddy service and support groups.
We will make sure that that no one has to face lymphoma alone.
