I would like to say a huge thank you to Radio 4 listeners for their wonderful generosity. The money we have raised from the appeal will enable us to continue to use the inspirational power of Paralympic sport to challenge perceptions and break down barriers for all disabled people. The upcoming Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games, and all future Paralympic Games, provide yet more opportunities for ParalympicsGB to inspire a more equal world for disabled people - a world free from prejudice and discrimination.
Every member of ParalympicsGB would like to thank the Radio 4 listeners for generously donating £10,850 to our appeal – we are so grateful!
At Tokyo 2020, ParalympicsGB achieved an outstanding 124 medals across 18 different sports – more than any other nation ever before! The team’s performances were a picture of resilience and strength in the toughest of circumstances. It was a truly incredible achievement that we couldn’t have accomplished without the support of the Great British public.
The Paralympic Games provide a platform for disabled people to showcase all the remarkable things that can be achieved when barriers and negative attitudes are not present.
Shortly after our Radio 4 appeal, we launched our new 10 year strategy - ‘Championing Change’. Our objectives are clear – to continue to best prepare a world class team for future Paralympic Games and to use the power of the Paralympic Games and the performances of Paralympics GB to inspire a better world for disabled people.
