Watermelon Fruit Cake
Healthy eating and epic-looking cakes don鈥檛 normally go together, but this recipe has it all! It looks amazing, tastes so fresh and is good for you. I made it for baby Nahara鈥檚 first birthday. She loved it!
- 1 large watermelon
- 4-5 different fruits (for example kiwi, apples, papaya, melons, bananas, pears, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, pineapple)
- Skewers or toothpicks
Before you start, make sure your grown-up knows you鈥檙e going to make magic in the kitchen! And do get help when using hot, sharp, or heavy objects while cooking...

1. Ask an adult to help or be very careful with sharp knives. Cut the top and bottom off the watermelon. Lay in on a flat side and carefully remove all the skin. Don鈥檛 forget to compost your peel!
2. Now cut the watermelon into three discs. You can make these different sizes if you like. These make the tiers to your cake, so stack them up.
3. Cut out some shapes from the other fruit. These could be stars, flowers, anything you like! Remember cutters can be sharp!
4. Now to decorate! Once you have your cool shapes ready, use toothpicks and skewers to stick them on to the cake! You can also push some shapes into the sides of the cake.
5. Stand back and admire your masterpiece!
6. Enjoy
