Patrik's second homecoming

JUST ARRIVED IN MUNICH - It鈥檚 a strange return to Munich for Patrik Andersson, the Swedish giant who helped Bayern win the Champions League final in 2001.
On his first visit to the city since he left the club after that triumph, I asked him if he鈥檚 fondly remembered here. 鈥淚 hope so, because I decided the championship for Bayern,鈥 he said, in reference to his last minute equaliser in the final Bundesliga match in the same season.
But he concedes the Swedes won鈥檛 be so popular if they dump the Germans out.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a pity, this game is too early,鈥 he says. 鈥淚t鈥檚 important to see the hosts stay in the tournament.鈥
Does that mean he鈥檚 tipping his home country to win this afternoon?
鈥淚t鈥檚 hard to say Sweden 鈥 they haven鈥檛 played their best yet,鈥 he says. But he then does just that, predicting they鈥檒l beat Germany on penalties. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 how we went out against Holland in Portugal 鈥 this time it鈥檚 our turn.鈥
To lift the cup, though, he backs Argentina.

I've backed Argentina since before the tournament - they have been superb in the build-up, have a great manager in Pekerman and their squad is so strong - take a look at Tevez and Messi left on the bench!
