The bells at Gresford's All Saints church, one of the Seven Wonders of Wales, have been silent since 2005 due to structural problems. But work to repair the tower that houses the bells is due to begin later this summer and should allow the six bells to ring out again, according to a report in the .

So says contributor Nathan who posts his plea in our Deeside guide this morning arguing: "Deeside would benefit from leaving Wales. The area we live is so close to the border that being in Wales we miss out."
You may remember recently that Audlem in Cheshire wanted to move out of England because of Welsh health service benefits and before that there was because it better identified with the nation.
So, should a campaign be started to get Deeside out of Wales?

It shows it pays to speak out because changes made to the road lay-out at Buckley crossroads have been put back to how they've been for years - due to public outcry.
While we'll leave it to the to explain the background, contributors to our Buckley forum have been having their say like Stuart: "I see the road markings at the traffic lights in Buckley have been changed back to the original markings after exactly 1 week. I wonder how much this cost the taxpayer?"
What do you think of Glyndŵr University - the new name of Wales's 10th uni - Wrexham's North East Wales Institute or NEWI to you and me?
They could have named it after some of our other famous sons and daughters from history [Henry Morton Stanley, John Wilkinson]; or the world of sport [Mark Hughes, Joey Jones] or even showbiz [Tim Vincent, Ricky Tomlinson]. It could also have been named simply - Wrexham University.

In response to the post [] from blogger regarding the size of Queen Victoria's bloomers, we thought it would be helpful to point him in the direction of a film [Summer on the pond] made by website contributor, Joan Tapper, who mentions - and models - girls' underwear in the 1920s:
"...I'm wearing there navy blue knickers which you could get twice into them really! We used to tuck our dresses inside and they were used like a type of bathing costume."
We've been using the 91Èȱ¬ Local site to collect your local history for a number of years now and, every so often, some very special stories strike a chord.
Often they aren't the 'big' stories, but they are important. They're the kind of stories you'd hear in the pub, the ones that don't find their way into the history books, the stories that die when a generation dies out.
So that's why our local history site is proving very popular with people sharing all kinds of stories and overnight two great little memories came in to us.

Two World War II veterans who last saw each other as they parachuted out of their damaged bomber in 1944 have met up for the first time in 64 years. Lancaster gunners Leslie Faircloth from Wrexham and Dougie Jordin from Blackpool were both 19 when they were forced to bail out over Paris.
All seven crew survived, but they were never reunited, writes .

Another year and another set of stats but still no difference in the picture - Rhyl and Queen's Park, Wrexham, are still among the most deprived places in Wales.
after the figures showed Rhyl West 2 [1st], Rhyl West 1 [4th] and Rhyl South West [5th], saying over the last year there had been an "extensive regeneration and a range of community initiatives to improve the quality of life for residents."
Clearly, there is still much to do.
In Wrexham, Queensway [3rd] - part of the Queen's Park [aka Caia Park] estate - still finds itself on the list. seemed to be staying quiet - but the people living there are trying to help themselves.
