'Bright and beautiful' house up for sale

The Welsh house that inspired one of the best-known Anglican hymns, , is up for sale; a snip at £2.25 million.

Llanwenarth House near Abergavenny was the residence of when she penned the hymn. In it she wrote:

The purple headed mountain
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning,
That brightens up the sky

It is thought that the Blorenge and Sugar Loaf mountains and the River Usk provided the inspiration for those lines that have been sung for 150 years.
