Karel Lek exhibition at Oriel Ynys Môn

An exhibition featuring the work of North Wales-based artist Karel Lek is set to go display at , Llangefni at the end of the month.
Karel Lek MBE, was born in Antwerp in 1929. Aged just 11, he and his Jewish parents were forced to flee Belgium during World War Two. They settled in North Wales as refugees, and Karel has lived there ever since.
The main subject of his work is people and landscapes; people in ordinary day to day situations and surroundings all of which convey honesty and compassion.
The exhibition at runs from 29 May to 4 July 2010, and will also feature works by Karel's late father Hendrik Lek.
