I don't frequently watch the Six, but whenever I do I'm appalled by the showbiz nonsense masquerading as News, and the awful presentational style of Natasha 'Come Dancing' Kaplinsky. But then again, the Six is never going to be Newsnight.

I totally agree with Martin Bell's comments. The Six is laughable, as is Breakfast. The world's finest news broadcaster should not be resorting to this sort of consumer affairs driven nonsense.

We don't even have the luxury any more of being able to turn over to 91Èȱ¬ News 24 for 'proper news' during these two excuses for news bulletins.

What is the deal with the Six O'Clock news when George sits their waving his hands around? Does he or the 91Èȱ¬ really think it adds anything to the coverage? Why has the 91Èȱ¬ sacrificed good news presenting for some kind of showbiz mix that is nothing more than the dumbing down of important news issues? I feel like im being spoken to by a partonising teacher. I think the 91Èȱ¬ see it's viewers as little more than 'dumb beasts' who need big bold words on the screen so we can 'understand' an issue. I don't understand why the 6pm news needs to be any different in content or style than some of the better 91Èȱ¬ news programmes.

Why is this 91Èȱ¬?

My husband and I would like you to know that we are switching to Channel 4 News. Tonights 6 o'clock News on the 91Èȱ¬ was the last straw. Why the 91Èȱ¬ thinks that Surgical procedures (not yet completed in this country) and Madonna's adoption are primary News items goodness only knows. The 91Èȱ¬ has really lost the plot. We want up to the minute Internation News and to hear how our soldiers are gettiing on in the field of operations in a war zone.

Channel 4 news at 7pm is a standard of news that we expect. It is News brought to us in a professional manner - International, without bias or personalities. Everything that the 91Èȱ¬ is not at the moment. Bye Bye 91Èȱ¬.
