I'm sitting on the verandah of my exchange house in the Southern Highlands, south of Sydney, Australia, It's just after 8pm and temperature is still in the high 20's but I'm knitting a sweater for my grandson.
Complain about this postWhen on holiday I always find a wool shop and start a project. The one here in Bowral is called Wool Addiction and is full of wonderful yarns not normally found in the UK. Perhaps Daisy would like to open a wool shop then she would have every excuse to buy more wool.
Happy wintery Saturday to you all.
Beryl
I not only knit but also spin the yarn, which becomes incredibly tedious when I want it as fine as the alpaca/Shetland I am doing at the moment. It will end up as Shetland lace which I have to do in a state of solitary confinement as the concentration required can make me extremely irritable if interupted. Can't be done in a cinema, when travilling or even with people in the vicinity. It's antisocial but brain-stretching and the radio is a good non-judgemental companion

Complain about this postLike Daisy, I have enjoyed knitting especially for the pleasure of the colours and textures and love the work of Kaffe Fassett. More recently I have discovered the fun of beading and was shown how to make a lovely knitted and beaded amulet purse. It sounds to me as if Daisy would love it to. If she responds to this e mail I will send instructions. Be warned, its addictive. Greetings to Beryl Austoni, from Olga Short in a bright but cold Grimsby, N.E. Lincolnshire, UK
