A wee chat with Big Brother winner Pete Bennett

It was like a whirlwind. one minute I was on the of Pete Bennett from , thinking ooh, he might be available for interview nowadays, next thing I know I have the phone in my hand, nervously tapping in a Brighton based number.

After 4 long rings, Pete, or Perfect Pete as he's known as by friends, picked up. I interview people every week for 13 Questions, but I must say I was excited.

He was exactly as I remembered him from the show. The cute voice with his south of England accent, the ticks, the love everyone attitude.

As we talked and swore our way through the usual questions, I began to realise that Pete has the same issues as any of us disableds, and would be very welcome on the Ouch Message Board. Pete spoke about how being a chronic insomniac really effects his day to day life. He loves having Tourettes, and is completely comfortable with who he is, but is a bit put out by the fact he can't relax. Like many of us, Pete has lots to say about medication, special school and holding down a job when you never stop twitching. One of the lads really.

He's a great character, and this really comes out in the 13 Questions interview, so check it out and let me know what you think through the comments.

Who knows, with all the rumours flying around about a blind person entering the house, maybe I'll be chasing another Big Brother star for interview sooner rather than later.
