There isn't enough audio description around!
For anyone who doesn't know, mainstream DVDs bought through shops and at video rental stores sometimes have Audio Description for people who can't se the screen well. The latest good ones include: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and the Narnia film. Not exactly hardcore drama but better than nothing. Closer is also described as is Garden State. Was most distressed to see that The Constant Gardener doesn't have AD on it.
Anyone else any recommendations for AD films or disks or plays?
I discovered quite by accident that the Brokeback Mountain DVD has AD on it. I haven't watched it with AD yet, so can't comment. But I was very pleased to discover it was there. Doesn't the RNIB (or is it the RNLI?) have a list of audio-described DVDs and videos?
