Britain's 'first black movie star'
While you wait for the American Gangster review (film and album), I thought I'd take a moment to shout out one of the (as yet) stars of the movie. And he's from the UK (well, via Nigeria!).
Chiwetel Ejiofor is one of the best black actors to have come from these shores and while the name may not be familiar right away, if you've seen Amistad, Children of Men, Spike Lee's Inside Man or even Kinky Boots you'll know him. Even if still not yet, you will do. He plays Denzel's right hand man in American Gangster and The Daily Telegraph newspaper recently did a really good interview.
